PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To record a broadcast signal, in which a layer transmission method is adopted, corresponding to the layer transmission method. SOLUTION: If receive and recording of a broadcast signal is instructed by a user in a step S1, the broadcast signal is received in a step S2. A CN level is detected in a step S3, and whether the CN level is a prescribed value or more is determined in a step S4. If it is determined that the CN level is the prescribed value or more, a low-layer elementary stream is deleted from the broadcast signal in a step S5, and a transmission descriptor is deleted from the PMT in a step S6.
