PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information reproducing device that can reproduce information automatically adaptively to various reproduction conditions different by facilities and improves usability for users, and a control method thereof. SOLUTION: The information reproducing device restores a video signal and an audio signal with inputted information to display the video signal by a display means 13 and reproduces the audio signal by a speaker 15; when limitation information extracted from a broadcast signal indicates that the video display is limited, reproduction limitations based upon the limitation information are imposed on the video display by the display means 13 and when the extracted limitation information indicates that the audio reproduction is limited, reproduction limitations based upon the limitation information are imposed on the audio reproduction by the speaker 15.
