PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic recording medium which secures a data signal area to a maximum extent by dividing and recording servo signals and data signals on separate layers, and does not destroy servo signals by a control mistake at the time of disturbance or read/write, its manufacturing method, a magnetic signal reproducing means and a magnetic signal reproducing method. SOLUTION: The magnetic recording medium 1 has a substrate 2 of non-magnetic material and at least a first recording layer 5 for recording a servo signal and a second recording layer 7 for recording a data signal above this substrate 2. It is characterized in that the coercive force of the first recording layer 5 is larger than that of the second recording layer 7, and the residual magnetic flux density of the first recording layer 5 is smaller than that of the second recording layer 7.
