PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an adhesive excellent in transfer property and cutting property of a foil in heat sensitive transfer to various objects to be transferred, and forming a heat sensitive transfer foil (herein after abbreviated as transfer foil) by transfer excellent in adhesive property, heat resistance, resistance to various organic solvents, resistance to alkali and resistance to hot water. SOLUTION: The invention relates to the emulsion type heat sensitive transfer adhesive obtained by polymerizing (A) radical-polymerizable unsaturated monomers comprising (a1) a vinyl cyanide based monomer and (a2) a tert-alkyl (meth)acrylate as essential components, by using a polymerization initiator in an aqueous medium, wherein the acrylic copolymer has 10-80°C of glass transition temperature.
