PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suitably control the internal pressure of a tire of each wheel in accordance with running environment. SOLUTION: Running environment is read out, for example, from navigation system 12. At least the internal pressure of the tire of a rear wheel which is a non-steering wheel is set high when a vehicle is on a superhighway and is not in congestion or a crowded state. So that deformation amount of the tire and rolling resistance are reduced, and consequently fuel consumption is improved. Riding comfort is assured by holding the internal pressure of the tires of all the wheels in a normal state in congestion or the crowded state even when the vehicle is on the superhighway. Lateral force rigidity of the tire is improved and traveling stability is realized by setting the internal pressure of the tires of all the wheels high when the vehicle is on a mountainous road and is running with speed not less than a predetermined value.
