<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem found in a case when a diode is used as a light-emitting source of ultraviolet ray, that a number of diodes are necessary as the intensity of irradiation is weak, though the loading of a deodorizing device using a photocatalyst in a refrigerator, is proposed. <P>SOLUTION: In the deodorizing device performing deodorization by using the photocatalyst, a visible light reaction type photocatalyst is used as the photocatalyst. In the deodorizing device performing deodorization by using a honeycomb-type filter comprising the photocatalyst, an ultraviolet ray light-emitting diode is used as a light source of ultraviolet ray for energizing the photocatalyst, an angle of application of the ultraviolet ray light-emitting diode is determined so that the ultraviolet ray from the ultraviolet ray light-emitting diode is applied to approximately half from one side of the filter, the photocatalyst is mounted at one side, and an oxidation catalyst is mounted at the other remaining side. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
