<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a capacity of an image processing memory such as a SDRAM. <P>SOLUTION: The capacity of one line in the image processing memory is matched with a data quantity of one line of image processing data. The image processing apparatus stores each of lines (n-th line, (n+1)th line, (n+2)th line,...) by packing the data toward greater addresses. The image processing apparatus stores image processing data a' obtained by applying image processing to pixel data on a shorter line (a) read from the image processing memory to smaller addresses of the image processing memory. The image processing apparatus reads a succeeding shorter line b and stores image processing data b' to an address next to that of the image processing data a'.
