ELECTROPHORESIS PARTICLES, ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD, AND ITS USE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide electrophoresis particles which can give an electrophoresis display having superior display characteristics of display responsiveness, contrast and the like, to provide its manufacturing method and to provide its use. SOLUTION: The electrophoresis particles 4 have polymer layers having 1 to 500 nm average thickness on the surfaces of pigment particles having≤1μm average particle diameter, and the polymer layer covers≥50% surface of the pigment particle. In the manufacturing method of the electrophoresis particles 4, radical polymerization is performed using a polymerization initiator, in a state where the pigment particles and a monomer component exist in a solvent. The electrophoretic particles are applied to microcapsules 1 and a sheet for electrophoresis display, an electrophoresis display and an electronic device. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
