PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lubricant, a lubricant composition and an additive, exhibiting improved functions under a severe environment; to provide a lubricated component and engine; and to provide a method for lubricating a moving part. SOLUTION: A lubricated surface includes a thin film coat comprising the lubricant composition comprising a base oil having a lubricating viscosity, and about 9.5-25 wt.% additive containing a nitrogen-containing olefin copolymer derived from an olefin copolymer obtained by graft polymerization of about 0.15-1.0 carboxy group per 1,000 number average molecular weight of the copolymer. The copolymer has about 10,000-100,000 average molecular weight. The amount of the additive in the lubricant composition is based on the whole weight of the lubricant composition.
