PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow acquisition of relevant information associated with music information recorded to a music recording medium together with the same. SOLUTION: The reproducing apparatus for reproducing music includes a computer interface 64 for connection to a computer 32, and a memory 72 for acquiring identification information that the computer 32 can use for the purpose of uniquely identifying a compact disk based on the data read from the compact disk by referencing the same to a remote database 50 on the Internet and storing the relevant information corresponding to the identification information transmitted via the computer interface 64.
