PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To set a transmission unit and a reception unit for enabling each receiving part to accurately receive infrared rays to be transmitted by two transmitting parts. SOLUTION: This reception adjusting device is provided with a control part 7 for selecting an initial setting mode for, when a transmission unit 2 having two transmitting parts 1 and a reception unit 4 having two receiving parts 3 are set, properly making incident each infrared ray from each transmitting part 1 of the transmission unit 2 to each receiving part 3 of the reception unit 4 and a crime prevention mode for deciding the intrusion of an intruding object based on the circumstances of the reception of the two infrared rays transmitted by the two transmitting parts 1. Also, this reception adjusting device is provided with a decision means 5 for deciding the case that any reception is not performed by either of the receiving parts 3, the case that any reception is performed only by one of those receiving parts 3, the case that any reception is performed only by the other receiving part 3 and the case that reception is performed by both the receiving parts 3 in the initial setting mode.
