PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the reproducibility of linear velocity and the stability of the linear velocity in fixing. SOLUTION: A fixing belt unit constituted of a fixing roller 506 having an elastic layer, a heating roller 510, an auxiliary roller 508 and a fixing belt 504 trained about them is turned with the rotary shaft of the auxiliary roller 508 as a support point, and pressured on a receiving roller 502 positionally fixed to form a fixing nip part N. The receiving roller 502 has hard structure which is more unlikely to be deformed than that of the fixing roller 506, and is driven to be rotated by a driving source, then the fixing roller 506 is submissively rotated.
