PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device which can make temperature distribution of a panel uniform over the interior of the face of the panel while maintaining a compact and flat structure. SOLUTION: In the panel 1, self-luminous optical elements are arrayed as pixels for displaying an image and is accompanied by heat generation at the time of emitting light. Heat-transfer materials A, B and C have high thermal conductivity to transfer the heat generated in the panel 1 to a chassis 2. The chassis 2 cools the panel 1 by radiating the heat transferred via the heat-transfer materials A, B and C to the outside. The panel 1 has a deviation in the temperature distribution in the surface and is relatively divided into a high-temperature area and a low-temperature area. Heat-transfer materials A, B and C have high thermal conductivity in the portion corresponding to high-temperature area of the panel 1 and are low in the the thermal conductivity in the portion corresponding to the low-temperature area of the panel 1 and negate the deviation of the temperature distribution of the panel 1.
