PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid catalyst component forα-olefin polymerization, having a high stereoregular polymerizing ability and excellent molecular weight controlling properties by hydrogen; to provide a catalyst for theα-olefin polymerization; and to provide a method for producing theα-olefin polymer. SOLUTION: The solid catalyst component for theα-olefin polymerization contains a titanium atom, a magnesium atom, a halogen atom, a phthalic acid ester compound and a 1,3-diether compound regulated so that the molar ratio of the 1,3-diether compound to the phthalic acid ester compound may be 0.1-3. The catalyst for theα-olefin polymerization is obtained by bringing (A) the solid catalyst component for theα-olefin polymerization into contact with (B) an organoaluminum compound and (C) an electron-donating compound. The method for producing theα-olefin polymer involves homopolymerizing or copolymerizing anα-olefin by using the catalyst for theα-olefin polymerization. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
