The method for the cleaning of incrustated pipelines (14), especially water mains, involves drying the incrustation by heating to at least 40 degrees C in a first stage, and removing it by mechanical action in a second stage. The heated incrustations are subjected to a rough vacuum in impacting fashion. An evacuated boiler (22) is connected to the pipelines via at least one initially closed cock (20), and at least one of the cocks is opened after the heating of the incrustations.
