<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reformer possible to be formed into a simple structure for miniaturization and improved in its performance, and a fuel cell system adopting the reformer. <P>SOLUTION: The fuel cell system of the present invention comprises the reformer for generating hydrogen gas from fuel containing hydrogen through a chemical catalytic reaction by thermal energy, at least one electricity generation part for generating electric energy through electrochemical reaction of the hydrogen gas and oxygen, a fuel supply part for supplying fuel to the reformer, and an oxygen supply source for supplying oxygen to the reformer and the electricity generation part. The reformer includes a plurality of substrates layered while forming a passage through which fuel and gas flow, and a catalyst layer wash-coated on a surface which forms each passage while having unidirectivity. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
