PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dielectric barrier discharge lamp provided with an outside electrode in which a crack and peeling-off are hard to occur, and in which corona discharge is hard to occur, and which has lifetime compared favorably with the lifetime of the other portions.

SOLUTION: This is the dielectric barrier electric discharge lamp 100 provided with the outside electrode at the circumference of the end part of a tubular glass tube 101, the outside electrode has a metal member (metal cap 105, metal cap 106) at the outer shell, and an adhesive material 107 containing a low melting point glass is filled in a gap between the glass tube 101 and the metal member.
