ILLUMINATION SYSTEM AND ILLUMINATION ADJUSTMENT METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an illumination system and an illumination adjustment method capable of enhancing realistic sensation of a space with an image display device installed therein.

SOLUTION: A luminaire 2 (for instance, a horizontal light) with an optical axis adjusted so as to illuminate a rear wall W1 from the lower side is disposed on a raw board 100 behind the image display device 1; and a value (wall surface illuminance/floor surface illuminance) obtained by dividing an average value of illuminance (wall surface illuminance) of respective vertical surfaces at a measurement point distant nearly by 300 mm in the lateral direction from the left and right side ends of a display surface 1a of the image display device 1 and located at the vertical center height of the display surface 1a and at a measurement point distant nearly by 300 mm in the upper direction from the upper end of the display surface 1a and positioned at the lateral center of the display surface 1a by horizontal surface illuminance (floor surface illuminance) of a floor surface F positioned nearly at the center of a space connecting the image display device 1 and the viewing point of an image observing person A is set not smaller than 0.5.
