PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an actuator for a valve lift control device for controlling a valve lift quantity while keeping engine performance stably. SOLUTION: The actuator for a valve lift control device, linearly drives a control shaft in an axial direction, and comprises: first and second rotary cams integrally rotating around a common rotation center line by torque transmission; first and second contacts brought into contact with the first and second rotary cams; and a direct acting follower moving in a straight line together with the control shaft along with the first and second rotary cams. When the contact of a first rotary cam with the first contact is a first contact, and the contact of the second rotary cam with the second contact is a second contact, the first contact is opposite to the second contact across the rotation center line. The sum of a cam lift quantity h<SB>1</SB>of the first rotary cam at the first contact and a cam lift quantity h<SB>2</SB>of the second rotary cam at the second contact is approximately constant in predetermined rotation angle ranges of the first and second rotary cams.
