<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrically switchable dual battery system for a vehicle having an engine. <P>SOLUTION: A vehicle has a first load 8 and a second load 10. The ON state in which an engine is operated, the OFF state in which the engine is not operated, and a start state when a starter motor 38 need the power are switchable therebetween. A system 2 has a first battery 4 to supply the power to the first load 8, and a second battery 6 to supply the power to the second load 10. A relay switch 18 is provided between the first battery 4 and the second battery 10, and a control means 20 opens the switch 18 only in the OFF state.
