PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a PDP in which excellent minuteness of the panel is attained and consumption of reactive consumption power which does not contribute to luminescence can be reduced. SOLUTION: In the PDP, the row of electrodes X1, Y1 have bus electrodes X1a, Y1a extending in the row direction and transparent electrodes X1b, Y1b facing each other for each discharge cell C1. The opposed parts X1b2, Y1b2 facing each other through discharge gaps g1, g2 of these transparent electrodes X1b, Y1b, are formed slanted in a prescribed angle in clockwise direction or counter-clockwise direction toward the row direction of the panel, and the transparent electrodes X1b, Y1b of which opposed parts X1b2, Yib2 are slanted mutually opposite way are arranged alternately along the bus electrodes Xa, Ya, and the opposed parts X1b2, Y1b2 slanted in the same way are opposed to each other.
