PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the stator of a motor capable of being set at the thin structural section of a household electric appliance, an OA apparatus, a precision apparatus, or the like, and in which a sufficient driving force is obtained while reducing the size and weight, and mechanical vibration can be reduced at the time of driving while ensuring sufficient rigidity. SOLUTION: A stator core 1 has a flat cross-sectional profile where the ratio of long diameter X and short diameter Y exceeds 1.0. Line P<SB>X</SB>indicating the long diameter X passing the center O of a rotator is substantially aligned with the width direction bisector of a pair of opposing salient poles 2a and 2a, and line P<SB>Y</SB>indicating the short diameter Y passing the center O of the rotator is substantially aligned with the width direction bisector of a pair of winding grooves 3a and 3a.
