PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video imaging apparatus smoothly obtaining a magnified video image intended by a photographer. SOLUTION: A direct view type display unit 1 is mounted on an edge of a carrying handle 5 by a stopper 6 and when the direct view type display unit 1 is expanded by its stopper 19, it becomes horizontally expanded into two planes of a first display panel 8 and a second display panel 14. Thus, by providing a plurality of direct view type display panels 8, 14, a magnified video image is viewed on the second display panel 14 while viewing an entire video image on the first display panel 8 and further, it is clearly seen which part of the entire video image the magnified video image belongs to, thereby smoothly obtaining a magnified video image intended by a photographer.
