PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a positioning apparatus in which the positioning accuracy of a machine origin is high. SOLUTION: A back-and-forth movement mechanism (E, P1, P2) has structure capable of displacing its position when external force is applied to a mobile object while driving force is not applied from a servo motor M. A control command generation device 2 continuously generates torque necessary for holding the back-and-forth movement mechanism on a machine origin from the servo motor M even after the torque of the servo motor M reached a set value L1 and an electric origin signal is output.
