<p>The invention relates to foundry engineering and powder metallurgy, in particular to methods and devices for sealing articles by hot isostatic pressure in a liquid phase. In particular, said invention can be used for removing porosity in aluminium parts. The inventive sealing method consists in producing a pressure on an article placed in a hot liquid medium. The pressure is transmitted by a piston comprising several parts including a metal sealing element. A cavity containing said liquid is sealed by means of plastic deformation of the metal sealing element produced by an applied pressure. The inventive device for carrying out said method comprises a cavity for a liquid medium and for receiving the article and the piston. The piston consists of at least three segments. The sealing element made of a material enabling the deformation thereof during sealing is arranged between two segments. The other segments of the piston are made of a material whose elastic modulus and plastic resistance are greater than those of the sealing element material. Said invention makes it possible to reduce a processing time and to increase the reliability of the device.</p> |
