PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a switch which prevents unreasonable force from being added to a handle cover when it is opened and closed. SOLUTION: An operation part of an operation switch and a function setting part are arranged at the front face of an enclosure 10, the operation part which is rotatably pivoted by a shaft part 27 installed at the front face of the enclosure 10 is made to be a pushing operation free at the rear face, and this is provided with an operation handle 30 in which a through-hole is formed at the site confronting with the function setting part, and with a handle cover 40 which is rotatably pivotally supported at the front face of the operation handle 30 so that the through-hole (function setting part) is covered openably and closably. When an excessive force is added to the direction of opening the handle cover 40 in a state that the handle cover 40 is opened, the site contacted with the peripheral part of an aperture window 61 of a decorative plate 60 is made as the fulcrum, and a retaining force by which the operation handle 30 is retained by the enclosure 10 is set to be smaller than the force by which the operation handle 30 is pressed by the handle cover 40 in the direction separating from the enclosure 10.
