DEVELOPER FEED UNIT, DEVELOPING ROLLER, DEVELOPMENT DEVICE, IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS AND PROCESS CARTRIDGE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing roller which relieves the mechanical stresses applied to toner in toner charging and can stabilize image quality over a prolonged period of time, a developer feed unit, a development device, an image forming apparatus and a process cartridge. SOLUTION: The developing roller 402 has a mesh-like developing sleeve 404 and a feed roller 410 set in the developing sleeve 404 to feed a developer onto the developing sleeve. A central cavity of the feed roller 410 is used as a toner-holding portion 420. The feed roller 410 is formed of open cell type foam 411, through which the inside of the toner holding portion 420 communicates with the outside of a surface of the feed roller 410.
