A foldable child seat (10) is comprised of a seating portion, a backrest and at least two side covers. An adapter (12) and additional binding (16) allow the child seat to be arranged against a vehicle seat (14) to face forward or backward. Safety devices are arranged in the head and torso areas for optimal child restraining and with consideration to the different sizes of children.
