CLOSED LOOP MIMO SYSTEMS USING CODEBOOKS FOR FEEDBACK

Stations in a NxN multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) wireless network search codewords in a codebook to determine which codeword is closest to a desired pre-coding matrix on a Grassmann manifold. An index or indices corresponding to codeword is transmitted from a receiver to a transmitter to identify a codeword to be used for transmit beamforming.
