PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming method or the like that enables secret printing such that the security level of highly secret print data is held high.

SOLUTION: An encryption key of a computer used in the encryption of the print data is encrypted by means of a smart card that a person who requests printing owns. The encryption key encrypted is attached to the encrypted print data and sent to the image forming device. The encryption key encrypted is decrypted using the smart card and the print data is decrypted using a decryption key that matches the encryption key.
