<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the arrangement of an apparatus by employing an exclusive recording medium thereby facilitating the handling, and to facilitate identification of data recorded on the exclusive recording medium. <P>SOLUTION: The image printing/selling apparatus 1 can record (copy) image data recorded on medium brought by a user and set in an external media section 18 onto exclusive media being set in an exclusive media section 19, e.g. a credit card type IC card. A CPU 10 judges whether the exclusive media has a capacity for recording the image data and if the capacity is deficient, replaces the exclusive media 195 by means of a media attaching mechanism 193 and sustains recording of the image data. When the exclusive media 195 is replaced, the CPU 10 reads out an inherent identification number recorded on the exclusive media 195 and records its in correspondence with the image data recorded on the exclusive media.
