<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicular steering device capable of reducing operating sounds at the time of locking. <P>SOLUTION: The vehicular steering device comprises a transmission ratio variable mechanism 4 having an input shaft 5 connected to a handle 2 side and an output shaft 6 connected to a steering wheel side for varying a transmission ratio between the input shaft and the output shaft by rotation driving of a motor 30 and a locking mechanism 50 for restricting the relative rotation of the input shaft 5 and the output shaft 6 by engaging an engaging member 70 with a rotating body 60 rotating together with the motor 30. An annular groove 61 is formed at the rotating body 60 and the engaging member 70 is preliminarily arranged in the annular groove 61. At the time of locking, the engaging member 70 is rotated in the annular groove 61 so as to be in a locking state. At this time, operation for inserting the engaging member 70 into the annular groove 61 is unnecessary and only a small amount of movement of the engaging member 70 is needed for engaging the engaging member 70, which can reduce the operating sounds at the time of engaging. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
