PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spirally winding type reminder material which can be very easily installed, can surely alert a driver or the like, and can be inexpensively manufactured, and to provide a method for manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: The reminder material is a long belt member composed of an elastic material such as synthetic resin or rubber. A reflecting section 2 is provided on the outer face 11 of the belt member 1, and the belt member is made to have curling tendency with the adjacent side edges of the belt member coming close to each other by the restoring elasticity to form a spiral cylindrical shape. When the belt member 1 is spirally wound around an object pillar body P, the inside face 12 of the belt member 1 fits on the surface of the pillar body P to constitute an incorporated body.
