A glass light guide having a core containing at least any one oxide among glass constituting oxides consisting of the group of Bi2O3, Sb2O3, PbO, SnO2 and TeO2, in which any large propagation loss of light occurring when the co re has a rectangular cross section is reduced. There is provided a glass light guide containing at least one member of the above glass constituting oxides in a total amount of >= 35% in terms of weight percentage and having a core with a trapezoidal cross section, characterized in that among parallel two sides of the trapezoid, the long side lies on the substrate side, and that among the four sides of the trapezoid, the long side and each of the two oblique lines form an angle of 60 to 80~.
