<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic circuit for making low power consumption compatible with sufficient display quality, an electrooptical device, a method for driving an electrooptical device and an electronic apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: A driving current coresponding to digital data VDGDATAm or analog data voltage VANDATAm is supplied via a data line Xm to an organic EL element 21 in a pixel circuit 20 laid corresponding to the intersection of a scanning line Yn and the data line Xm. When halftone is controlled by digital gray scale to reduce power consumption, the digital data VDGDATAm is supplied to the pixel circuit 20.
