PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the occurrence of the feathering of a pellet-like long fiber reinforced resin molding material. SOLUTION: In this method for manufacturing the pellet-like long fiber reinforced resin molding material by fibrillating reinforcing fiber strands 4 by the fibrillation device 6 provided in a resin impregnating die 2 while bundling a plurality of the reinforcing fiber strands 4 drawn out of a wound body to continuously pass them through the resin impregnating die 2 to impregnate the fibrillated reinforcing fiber strands 4 with a thermoplastic resin and drawing out the impregnated fibrillated strands so as to have a predetermined line diameter, a perforated plate 1 having a large number of holes 10 is installed between the wound body and the resin impregnating die 2 and the reinforcing fiber strands 4 are taken out while inserted through the holes of the perforated plate one by one and separated before bundled to be introduced into the resin impregnating die 2.
