PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method for examination of blood vessel functions, capable of the examination of blood vessel functions using the pulse wave propagation velocity (PWV) easily regardless of the place of measurement, and the like. SOLUTION: The blood vessel function examination apparatus 10 allows a living body to be examined while the living body is seated on a chair 12, and has a first pulse wave detecting device 14 for detecting pulse waves of the knee region of the living body. The pulse wave propagation velocity (PWV) found from the pulse waves detected by the first pulse wave detecting device 14 is corrected so that the influence of the gravity is eliminated.
