A flood protection dyke has a foundation layer under a concrete core wall covered by a bulk solid covering combination of clay, sand, topsoil and grass. The earthen top layer is separated from the clay and sand by a moisture barrier foil (4) and an electrical mat (3). The electric mat is insulated from the surrounding earth but imparts a shock to animals attempting penetration. |
