<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the accuracy of a correction value for correcting the density of an image. <P>SOLUTION: In this correction-value setting method, the correction value H for correcting the density of the image is set by reading the density of a printed test pattern (pattern CPm for correction) by means of a pattern reading part (reading carriage 104) moving in a predetermined direction. The setting method comprises: a printing step (S121) of printing the test pattern; density data acquiring steps (S122 and S123b) of acquiring density data by reading the test pattern and a colorless area (ground color area m0) with no printed test pattern by means of the pattern reading part; density data correcting steps (S123c and S123d) for correcting the data on the density of the test pattern in accordance with data on the density of the colorless area; and a correction value setting step (S124) for setting the correction value, in accordance with the corrected data on the density of the test pattern. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
