<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that enables smooth and effective use of memory resources without waste. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is equipped with: a read section 7 which reads a document; a memory 6 which stores a read image; a memory management section 3 which monitors the use state of the memory; an image data management section 8 which manages the image data stored in the memory; a network control section 9 which is connected to a network and allows the apparatuses to communicate with each other through the network; and an apparatus management section 2 which registers the apparatuses connected to the network, and has a function of sending an image storage request to the apparatuses other than itself in case of a deficiency of memory resources in the apparatus itself when performing an image storing operation. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
