<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of efficiently performing cleaning, such that the surface of photoreceptor drum is polished. <P>SOLUTION: When a cleaning switch 15 for manual operation is turned on, the thresholds of temperature and humidity at which the photoreceptor drum 11 needs to be cleaned are set (updated), on the basis of the ambient temperature and humidity of the photoreceptor drum 11 measured by a temperature sensor 16 and a humidity sensor 17. When the cleaning switch 15 is turned on or when the ambient temperature and humidity of the photoreceptor drum 11 reaches their respective set thresholds, the cleaning of the photoreceptor 11 is executed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
