PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate a burn-in phenomenon at a fixed display part by solving the inevitable problem that burn-in happens or brightness differences increase as the time elapses. SOLUTION: The burn-in correction device is composed of (a) an area divider to divide the image into several areas, (b) an accumulator to accumulate the light emitted from all the pixels constituting an area for a certain period to obtain an accumulated amount of emitted light, (c) a correction value deciding section to compare the accumulated amount of emitted light of the area and to decide the larger correction value, the larger the area deviates from the reference, (d) a correction value adjuster to correct the correction value corresponding to the position in the area so that the correction value continuously changes between the adjoining areas, and (e) a correction processor to correct the image data in the area according to the correction adjustment value given from the correction value adjuster during the correction period to eliminate the variations of the summed amount of emitted light between the areas.
