PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image generator, an image pickup device, a moving image generator, an image generation method, an image generation program or a recording medium having the program recorded thereon, with which the images of a higher number of gradations and high image quality can be obtained from photographed moving images.

SOLUTION: A composition means 33 performs a composition processing to four frame images F0-F3 gradation-expressed 8 bits. An obtained generated frame image Fm has the data of 2 bits indicating a fractional part generated by the computation of the composition processing in addition to the data of 8 bits indicating an integer part. A gradation conversion means 34 acquires the generated frame image Fm for which the integer part is gradation-expressed by 10 bits by using the data of the integer part and the data of the fractional part of the generated frame image Fm.
