<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce irregularity in temperature distribution on a light emitting surface of a display panel by a circuit means. <P>SOLUTION: A light emitting surface 100 generates heat by emission of light and causes irregularity in the temperature distribution due to radiation deviation of the generated heat. The light emitting surface 100 is divided into a center open region 100A and a peripheral light-shielding region 100M surrounding the center region. Pixels in the open region 100A are display pixels which emit light in accordance with display data to display an image, while pixels in the light shielding region 100M are dummy pixels which emit light in accordance with the display data but do not contribute to displaying an image. A display data supply unit 2 beforehand processes a part of the display data to be supplied to the display panel, the part to be assigned to the dummy pixels. Thereby, the dummy pixels are activated to emit light with appropriate luminance, and the irregularity in the temperature distribution on the light emitting surface 100 is made uniform by the heat generated by the dummy pixels. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
