PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce power consumption for outputting an alarm and prolong the period when an alarm can be outputted in a battery driven alarm. SOLUTION: A fire and gas leak alarm 1 that detects an occurrence of an abnormal state in a monitoring area and outputs an alarm comprises a detection processor 19a that detects the occurrence of an abnormal state, an alarm outputting means that carries out a predetermined control for outputting an alarm when an abnormal state is detected, and an intermittent processor 19c that carries out a predetermined control for outputting of an alarm by the alarm outputting means discontinuously.
