<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting device capable of improving the luminescence characteristics of the device and suppressing the variation of the luminescence characteristics of the device in two or more devices. <P>SOLUTION: This light emitting device comprises a semiconductor device layer 8 including a luminescence region 15a with an active layer 4, a groove 9 which reaches the active layer 4 from the surface of the semiconductor device layer 8 provided so that at least one side edge of the luminescence region 15a of the semiconductor device layer 8 may be adjoined, and a resin layer 14 containing the phosphor formed in the groove 9. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
