<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flammable substance shutoff device capable of shutting off a flammable substance by detecting leakage of the flammable substance with a simple structure without needing a driving source such as electricity. <P>SOLUTION: This flammable substance shutoff device is used for shutting off either a flammable substance or an oxidizer when the flammable substance and the oxidizer 103 come into contact with each other and thereby preventing the contact. The shutoff device includes: a catalyst part 101 formed in contact with either of the flammable substance and the oxidizer 103; and a shutoff means 111 operated by being heated by reaction between the flammable substance and the oxidizer in the catalyst part to shut off at least either of the flammable substance and the oxidizer.
