PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a programmable controller which virtually executes motion control with easiness and at low costs for using system software, and for reducing loads to be imposed on a designer without deteriorating the quality of application software. SOLUTION: A virtual motion control module 7 having virtual motion control software 9 having a function which is equivalent to motion control software 5 and a virtual shared memory 8 having a data structure which is equivalent to a shared memory 4 of a motion control module 3, is installed in a CPU module 1 of a programmable controller, and motion control is virtually executed based on the information of an allocation table 21 in which the allocation information of the virtual shared memory 8 is stored by using the application program 13 in the same way as the actual motion control module.
