PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image corresponding point extraction method and an image corresponding point extraction device capable of highly precisely extracting a corresponding point even in an area where a plurality of objects coexist, an area where there is a little features and an area where similar patterns repeatedly exist, and to provide a storage medium therefor. SOLUTION: A template matching method uses a similarity evaluation function composed of: a function for converting a difference between the pixel values of pixels in a template image in a reference image and the pixel values of pixels in a small area in a retrieval image to be compared with the template image; and a function for calculating similarity by using the value of each pixel converted by the function for converting the difference of the pixel values, and controls the function for converting the difference of the pixel values according to the image features of the template image.
