The cushion has a cover (3) arranged over an inner spring (5), where the cover has layers (6, 9) of rubber foam or foamed rubber. One of the layers of the cover exhibits plates (7) and/or burls that are on its upper and/or lower sides. The plates or the burl structures have a height of 30 to 40 mm. The plate runs parallel to a front side of upholstered furniture. Bars of foamed rubber are arranged between the inner springs.
